Forsvarskonferansen
Nordic Defence and Security Conference 2026
September 22–23 at Scandic Hell
We live in a world that is becoming increasingly unpredictable
Threats are growing in number, becoming more tangible and more severe. In the years ahead, the Nordic countries will invest substantial resources in strengthening their defence and total defence systems. This places higher demands on innovation, decisiveness, and collaboration among all actors involved in Nordic preparedness and resilience.
The Nordic Defence and Security Conference brings together representatives from Nordic defence staffs, policymakers, academia, and both small and large enterprises to share insights, learn from one another, and build essential relationships. For decades, the European defence industry has been characterised by downsizing and underinvestment. The transition from peacetime production to crisis and wartime readiness requires time, resources, and sustained political commitment. It is not solely a matter of increasing production capacity, but also of ensuring access to raw materials, skilled competence, and predictable, long-term procurement.

Industrial capacity is therefore at least as critical to the development of defence capabilities as the armed forces’ own ability to adapt and expand. Without a strengthened defence industry, increased ambitions will remain on paper.
The Nordic Defence and Security Conference aims to be the leading meeting place for cooperation among all stakeholders involved in strengthening total defence across the Nordic region. As the Nordic countries commit significant investments to enhance total defence in the coming years, Norwegian and Nordic companies have a unique opportunity to contribute with technology, services, and solutions. We support Nordic industry in understanding how the market is evolving and how companies can position themselves for the future.
